Creative solutions.

Creative ideas.

Creative design.

Everyone has a passion. Mine is writing and editing nonfiction.

My day job is freelance editing. Whatever the challenge, I help my clients get where they need to go—resolving big-picture structural issues, handling the nuts and bolts of usage and style, and everything in between.

The portfolio below features my writing and editing. Please contact me to learn more about my services.

  • I work with Brian Baughan regularly and look forward to doing so in the future—he’s a smart, conscientious, eagle-eyed editor with an excellent ear for the author’s voice and a keen sense of structure.

Sarah Grey, Founder of Grey Editing
  • I needed a talented writer/editor I could trust to step in and complete an online feature story for a high-profile foundation client. Brian was the right choice. He was fast, professional, communicative, and creative in how he approached and executed the project. I would hire him again, and you should too.

Elaine Gast Fawcett, President of Four Winds Writing, Inc.
  • Brian did a magnificent job walking me through the copyediting process while I revised my manuscript for publication. . . . If you’re looking for someone reliable, organized, and insightful to help you with the sometimes tedious process of copy editing and revising, Brian should be at the top of your list.

Bianca Williams, Assistant Professor, University of Colorado Boulder
